WELLS CAME BOUNDING UP THE STAIRS THE MINUTE AFTER WE’D ARRIVED. HIS HAIR WAS dishovled and he was grinning like a Chester Cat. He’d just gotten laid.

Or he’d gotten as much as he could while they waited for Babycakes to pass the other trial’d.

I looked over at the betas. Ren and Mace were snickering between themselves. They’d seen it on his face too. Just like they’d seen…

Fresh horror spread through me. Any time I thought about the pepper incident, my dick was burning all over again. I had the urge to miniaturize and fly away, but that wasn’t possible anymore. I had to do something to open the Conduit and get my magic back. I was desperate and I’d try anything I could to make that happen.

Spencer, Dominic, and Kelsey pressed in Wells’ cabin behind us, and we volleyed for the best seats on the couch with Mace diving in at the last second to bump me on the floor. “Rude,” I shouted. “You could at least let me sit on your lap for that.” He shot me a sideways glance and handed me a pillow from behind him instead. Of course, he wasn’t going to go for that now that he’d seen the showshit that was my once-magnificent cock.

That and he wasn’t into guys, but whatever.

Wells walked over to the hallway that led to his bathroom and the bedroom and braced his arms across the doorframe. Terra stepped inside at the same moment—carrying her boots, her hair also a mess—and was stunned by his bulging muscles, the manly pose he’d struck just for her viewing pleasure. Not that we couldn’t all appreciate it. These two had it bad for each other. She muttered her apologies for being late and took the chair from the kitchen table to sit her sweet little tush in, a blush spreading across her cheeks. Wells smirked, having been the one to put it there. He flashed her a peace sign and her eyes widened.

Kelsey snorted. “Twice? Nice. Well done, alpha.” So, not a peace sign, but a number two. Good for them. I wasn’t even jealous.

I was. I was jealous.

Ren pulled a hair tie from his wrist and handed it to Terra, who put it to good use. She snapped her eyes to Wells. “Can we get to why we’re here instead of joking about our private life?”

Wells placed a kiss on the top of her head. “You’re in a pack now, Precious. There is no privacy.” She shook her head, taking it well and Wells went alpha in the next moment. “We have two immediate problems. The Conduit and those coming after our magic.

“I want to handle this in teams. Terra, Ren, and I will work on the Conduit. Gideon, Spence, Dom, and Kelsey work on compiling a list of the Magicals in our area and how they can go after magic. We need the entire pack to be prepared for anything. Use any of my books if you need them. I want everything put on informational flyers to hand out.
